Traditional Hot Tubs

    Our Hot Tubs

Materials

Our hot tubs are made of wood as many people prefer the look and feel of real wood. Our tubs are crafted out of  "A grade" sustainably-grown larch from NE Scotland. The larch is air dried and then shaped and fitted. Larch is a naturally water resistant wood that has been used to build boats for centuries. The wood comes untreated so you can apply whatever stain or oil you like to preserved its good looks. We can also source oak but this comes at a premium price. The first impression most people have is that it is a substantial hot tub. This is because we use ~ 44mm (1,7/8th") thick staves and base.

    Design

We have precisely shaped the edge of the staves (wall or sideboards of the tub) with a joint that increases the distance water would have to flow to leak out (please note this is not a tongue and groove joint). This means that the joints between the staves provide the best possible seal (probably better than a traditional barrel joint). We do not shape the inside and outside of the staves as this increases cost and wastage.

A drain and jets can be fitted on request.  Heating and filtration is up to you although we can ship with a heater, filter, pump unit and chemical kit (see price list for details) if required.
